#Willdoes Grant Evaluation Criteria
Charity Objective
To promote social inclusion and good physical and mental health among young people.
Funding Principles
The aim of the #Willdoes charity is to support young people in and around Dorset. To contribute financially to charitable projects for the benefit of young people in Dorset and the surrounding areas. Introducing young people to sports and other activities to help them connect and engage socially, rather than retreat to more insular gaming and social media pastimes and to develop coping mechanisms to help manage anxiety and emotions, increase self-awareness, developing trust and relationships.
Objectives
The Charity’s objectives are specifically restricted to promoting and financially supporting any charitable purpose (including the promotion of education and social inclusion) for the benefit of young people in and around Dorset. Applications for grants should demonstrate clearly how the project would meet the following criteria:
Being for the benefit of young people* in and around Dorset, an individual, or to assist families and supporters to the benefit of the young people.
To provide funding that allows young people/person to access an opportunity that would not otherwise be available.
To enable young people in Dorset to access activities that encourage positive physical and mental health.
To assist young people to improve coping mechanisms, manage anxiety and emotions, improve interpersonal communication and self-awareness, and develop trust and relationships.
To enable young people to learn new skills that will assist them in progressing towards independent and full lives.
To encourage young people to participate confidently in the wider community and improve their health and wellbeing.
To enable young people to become independent, socially engaged and be well informed on the risks of retreating to more insular gaming and social media pastimes.
To raise public awareness of the issues affecting young people in relation to their physical and mental health.
Eligibility
The beneficiaries of the Grant must be aged 25 years or younger and live in, or around Dorset.
Applicants must demonstrate how the grant will be used to allow the young people/person, to access activities that encourage positive physical and mental health (including the promotion of education, physical health, mental health and social inclusion).
Applicants must be able to demonstrate that the funding will ensure that the activity is accessible for the benefit of the young people/person and could not otherwise be readily accessible.
Applicants must demonstrate how the grant will help the young people/person, connect and engage socially and be well informed on the risks of retreating to more insular gaming and social media pastimes.
Applications from organisations must demonstrate how public awareness of the issues affecting young people in relation to their physical and mental health will be raised.
