Festive tractor parade held in Dorset for #Willdoes
The #Willdoes’s Tractor Run held in December raised an impressive £4,490 in aid of supporting physical and mental wellbeing in young people.
Over 78 tractors, decorated in Christmas lights, took part with the convoy passing through 12 Dorset towns and villages with spectators gathering to wave them on their way.
Many of the drivers were young farmers, only 16 years of age.
#Willdoes founder, Lesley Paddy, said: “Many farmers work alone and can feel quite isolated which means there is a high incidence of mental health issues in the farming community. This event helps to raise awareness of the issue and of course raise funds for Willdoes which promote physical and mental wellbeing in young people.”
The third annual Dorset Tractor Run was organised by local Bryony Vaughan and her partner Kian, and mum’s Sheryl and Stacey, in memory of Lesley’s son, William Paddy, who died aged 14.
“A huge thank you to everyone who joined, supported and volunteered your time. We couldn’t do it without you,” said Bryony.
Thank you to Dorset Rural Photography for capturing the event. The photos were amazing and they donated their proceeds to #Willdoes.
Also thank you to the local businesses and community for donating prizes for the Best Decorated Tractor and to the raffle.
