“I have no words. It was the most touching event I’ve been at for #Willdoes

The words of Lesley Paddy after more than 85 tractors joined a convoy to support the charity founded in memory of her son, Will.

Organised by Bryony Vaughan, pictured left with Lesley, and fellow level 3 agriculture year 2 students at Kingston Maurward College, the tractor run did a two-hour circuit through several villages and Dorchester, before finishing back at the college.

It raised £1,200 for #WillDoes bringing the total collected since the charity was founded to more than £80,000.

Lesley said: “It was spectacular to see the amazing machines in convoy filled with young people from all over the county and beyond.

“They stretched as far as the eye could see into the distance and were worth millions of pounds.

“They came from all over, some travelling quite long distances, to take part.

“Tickets were pre-booked and the college, and its Principal and Chied Executive Luke Rake, have been very supportive.

“Will was the most amazing, caring, funny young man who would have wanted to be driving one of these amazing tractors.

“A fantastic son, great grandson, loving nephew and the most amazing friend to all of those that knew him.

“This for me was the most touching event yet, to see so many young people supporting and enjoying themselves.”

Will, 14 – pictured left with Lesley and who she loved to call ‘Bubba’ and her ‘munchkin’ – died in May last year.

An inquest later recorded a verdict of misadventure with Brendan Allen, Assistant Dorset Coroner, described his death as “an unimaginable tragedy.”

Lesley founded the charity #Willdoes ‘Helping Young People Achieve Wellbeing’ to help young people who may be finding life tough and are struggling to cope with daily life.

Lesley, 53, said: “I don’t look forward to Christmas.

“Will was not just an only son but also an only grandson.

“It’s an especially difficult time of the year.”
