#Willdoes Ambassador, Jamie Nicholls, was star attraction at Warmwell Charity Jam!
Team GB Olympic Snowboarder, Jamie Nicholls, 28, was the star attraction at a charity ski and board event hosted at Warmwell Snowsports Centre in Dorset (Sunday 21st November).
Around 40 skiers and boarders aged from nine to 59 gathered to watch him perform and give tips to raise money and awareness for #Willdoes, a charity for which he is ambassador.
Nicholls learnt to snowboard on a dry slope in Halifax at the age of seven and visited Warmwell as a young child before becoming professional at the age of 15. After showing his skills on Sunday evening he offered plenty of encouragement to both the adults and children that took part in the event.
For many spectators, the highlight was watching snowboarders attempt to clear a high jump with Jason Dickson jumping over 1.5 metres to win £50 cash.
Over £550 was raised for #Willdoes from the raffle which included prizes such as lessons with Jamie Nicholls, a personalised custom-made snowboard from DOUK Snow (based in Worcester), as well as snowboards, goggles, jackets, jumpers, and ski boots donated by Big Dreams Snowboards Shop in Wareham and Warmwell Snowsports Centre.
#Willdoes founder and mum of Will, Lesley Paddy said: “It was a great night. Will would have loved it! I just want to thank everyone for their support and generosity.”
